First edition of ‘Twin City Relay’ to be held on June 10, 11

Bengaluru: The First Edition of Twin City Relay has been scheduled between Bangalore and Mysore on June 10 and 11.

The run will be flagged off on June 10 at 7 pm from Decathlon, Mysore Road and conclude at 9 am on June 11 at the Chamundi Vihar Stadium Mysore via Bangalore Mysore Highway.

The event has been organized by Inventors’ India Research Foundation and Socio Fitness.

Twin City Relay understands the excitement and capabilities of different runners and have designed the event with varying degree of endurance test for the runners, classifying the participation under two different leagues.

In pro league men, women and mixed team with 8 members can participate with lap length 7.5 kms shortest and longest 23 kms. In Open league men, women and mixed team size of 12 members each can participate.

The winners are selected based on the time teams take to cover the relay route without any disqualification. Though no way comparable to the feat the teams put up to make the event successful, their efforts will be encouraged by rewarding the winning teams in each category.

Twin City Relay is a unique team event in India, Putting Endurance, Team Efforts and Leadership qualities of each participant through Litmus Test. It is a 120 kms relay run with variable lap length across the contours of highway between two cities, allowing the team to take advantage of its member’s strength to build it’s winning strategy.

Twin City Relay is a relay run between two cities of India, it is a team event with runners participating in the team to win the race. Each team member participates in only a set part of the race carrying a baton and is relieved by another member of the team at the exchange station with a baton hand-off.
