Bengaluru: The first sports university in the State is coming up in Yelahanka town which is on the outskirts of Bengaluru City.
Minister for Youth Empowerment and Sports K. C. Narayana Gowda has informed that the proposed new university is coming up on 100 acres of land. Over 65 acres of land is already handed over to the department.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Gowda said that the process of acquiring another 35 acres of land is also in progress.
Gowda informed that Rs.504 Crore have been sanctioned to construct new grounds in major Gram Panchayat limits across the State to help the children to pursue their careers in sports and games.
