Since the stroke of midnight on Saturday, Bengaluru witnessed a series of accidents that resulted in injuries to five individuals. The first incident occurred early on Sunday morning around 5:30 am, when the tyre of an SUV burst while it was traveling on the Yeshwantpur flyover. The sudden burst caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which was transporting sweet potatoes from Hubballi to Tamil Nadu. As a result, the SUV overturned to its left side, injuring two passengers. Fortunately, both the driver and the cleaner of the vehicle, who were slightly hurt, managed to escape with only minor injuries.
The second incident took place on the Electronics City Expressway, where a car carrying five individuals crashed into the parapet wall of a flyover. The driver, identified as 23-year-old Abdulla, lost control of the car after speeding and overtaking another vehicle late past midnight. The impact of the crash left three people injured—Abdulla, along with Shabbir and Tanaz, all residents of RT Nagar. The accident prompted swift assistance from bystanders, who helped the victims out of the vehicle. The injured passengers were promptly rushed to a private hospital, where they received treatment and were later discharged by the afternoon.
Meanwhile, another accident occurred near Doddabelavangala when a truck transporting goods tipped over at midnight due to the driver losing control. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this instance. Police are investigating all three incidents, with a case filed at the Electronics City traffic police station concerning the car accident.
