Bengaluru: The current government’s pre-monsoon preparations have faced severe criticism as the city experiences flooding despite minimal rainfall. Inadequate measures to address waterlogging issues have raised concerns about the government’s ability to handle the upcoming monsoon season.
Prominent BJP leader, Dr. Ashwath, expressed disappointment, stating, “The pre-monsoon preparations are very poor. There has been a lot of flooding even with minimal rain. The government is not performing, and there is no development.”
Residents are grappling with inadequate drainage systems and ineffective water management, causing severe disruptions to daily life. The lack of proactive measures has raised concerns about public safety.
Bengaluru’s rapid urbanization and population growth have added pressure to its infrastructure, exacerbating the problem. The opposition party, BJP, consistently criticizes the government’s handling of infrastructure challenges.
Government officials have assured the public of the necessary steps being taken. However, tangible improvements on the ground remain to be seen. The government faces mounting pressure to resolve Bengaluru’s drainage issues as the monsoon season approaches.
