Bengaluru: Foam has once again surfaced from the Bellandur lake in Whitefield, posing health hazards to the local residents.
According to the locals, the water from the heavy rains over the past two days has mixed with the drainage water and flowed into the lake, resulting in the foam.
“The foam was high on Sunday evening,” said Ravishankar, a local resident. “The BBMP and other civic authorities are doing little to solve this problem,” he added.
The locals also say that the waste water released into the lake, has been continued even after the directions of the National Green Tribunal. The sprinklers installed on the lake bed are not working, causing even more problems.
Meanwhile, the BBMP officials are expected to visit the spot on Monday morning to finalise the remidial measures required to stop the foam formation.
