A 21-year-old street food seller, identified as Kartik V, was apprehended by Bengaluru police after a disturbing incident in Rajiv Gandhi Colony near Queens Road, Shivajinagar on the night of April 13.
The accused allegedly exposed himself to a female neighbour, triggering outrage. When the woman’s husband and a relative confronted Kartik about his indecent act, the situation quickly turned violent. Kartik, who was on the second floor of his residence, began pelting them with chunks of cement and shattered clay pots.
Both men reportedly suffered head wounds due to the assault and were immediately taken to Bowring Hospital for medical treatment. The woman later approached the local police station and filed an official complaint the same evening.
Realizing the seriousness of the matter and fearing legal action, Kartik fled the locality shortly after the altercation. A search operation was launched, and law enforcement officials traced him to Ramanagara, where he had gone into hiding. He was soon taken into custody and brought back to the city for further investigation.
Police have confirmed that charges under indecent exposure and physical assault have been registered against him. The matter is currently under legal review, and further inquiries are underway.
