A foreign national was arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Squad of Bengaluru’s Central Crime Branch (CCB) for allegedly trafficking MDMA crystals in the Begur police station area. Items worth Rs 2 crore, including narcotics and related materials, were seized during the raid.

The CCB officers acted on a tip-off and swiftly raided the location, where they apprehended the suspect in possession of MDMA crystals. The police also seized a mobile phone, an electronic weighing machine, a two-wheeler, and other evidence related to the crime.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused, who had entered India on a business visa in 2012, had been purchasing MDMA crystals at low prices from a local acquaintance. He allegedly sold the drug at high rates, up to Rs 20,000 per gram, targeting college students and IT/BT professionals. It was also found that the accused had overstayed his visa and was residing in India using fraudulent documents. The police will notify the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) for further action.

The accused and the seized narcotics have been handed over to the Begur Police, who have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
