Bengaluru: While Bengaluru police are struggling to know the whereabouts of former councillor V. Nagaraj, a video, purportedly released by him, has kicked up a storm.
The 53-year-old former councilor, who is known as Pal Naga alias Bomb Naga, from an undisclosed location on Saturday morning released a video making allegations against top police officers and politicians in the State, accusing them of trying to get rid of him.
Nagaraj has been on the run after the police recovered Rs. 14.8 crore in demonetised currency from his house on April 14. He alleged that the money belonged to a few IPS officers and politicians. The police, however, have dismissed the allegation. Apart from a few Congress and BJP politicians, Nagaraj also named a Manjunath, who, he claimed, was Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s special personal assistant and was part of the conspiracy to set him up. The Chief Minister on Saturday said there was no such person by that name working for him.
Meanwhile, Benglauru Commissioner of Police met Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara to explain the measures to taken to nab Nagaraj. Dr Parameshwara told media persons the police have taken Nagaraj issue seriously and nab him soon.
