Bengaluru: Former Labour minister C Gurunath who was admitted to Sagar Apollo hospital for diabetes related problem committed suicide by jumping off the second floor of the hospital here on April 21.
C Gurunath was the Labour minister of Karnataka in 1996.
Gurunath was admitted on April 18 and was operated at the Apollo hospital over diabetes related problem. He was supposed to get discharged today.
The reason for the extreme step is yet to be known. The police suspect that Gurunath may have been depressed due to his medical condition.
The body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem at the KIMS hospital.
