Former PM Deve Gowda terms PM Modi’s security breach controversy lamentable

Bengaluru: As the issue regarding security breach of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Punjab taking its own shape, on Thursday January 6 Former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda shared his opinion.

He said, “It is very unfortunate that there is a controversy over the security of the Prime Minister. At no point should we be complacent when it comes to protecting the highest executive office of India. We should learn from the past.”

On Wednesday January 5, some protestors blocked the highway in Punjab for 20 minutes while Prime Minister was passing through. Though Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi expressed regret after Modi had to cut short his visit to the State, he asserted that there was no security lapse.
