Bengaluru: The Mahalakshmi Layout police have arrested four employees of JMJ Old Age Home, Basavesaranagar for torturing a domestic help.
According to police, the arrested persons allegedly burnt her body with cigarette while questioning her about a missing mobile phone. The victim, Manjula (41), who sustained multiple burn injuries on her body, was found by a few residents of the area, who alerted the police before admitting her to K.C. General Hospital.
Based on the complaint, the police arrested Venkatesh, Yuvaraj, Meraj Pasha and Sharan and remanded them in judicial custody.
According to the police, the accused suspected Manjula of stealing a mobile phone belonging to one of the inmates.
On Friday, they summoned her, tortured her and released her after a stern warning, the police said.
