Four, including a woman, held for peddling drugs

Bengaluru: A gang of four, including a 40-year-old woman, was arrested on Friday by the Narcotics Control Bureau on the charge of peddling drugs.

According to officials, two of the gang members had travelled from Kakinada in Seshadri Express carrying 41 kilograms of drugs concealed in bag. After alighting at K.R. Puram railway station, they handed over the bag to their kingpin, Prabha.

The NCB caught them red-handed and recovered cannabis worth Rs. 10 lakh. The inquiries revealed that Prabha was running the inter-State racket for quite some time.

Woman held for gold smuggling

A woman was arrested by the Customs Air Intelligence unit at Kempegowda International Airport for allegedly smuggling gold. The Customs Air Intelligence staff have seized gold worth Rs 13.74 lakh from the woman who arrived from Abu Dhabi on Jet Airways flight. According to the sources, the woman was trying to carry the gold in a trolley bag.
