Prabuddha’s mother, suspecting foul play in her son’s death, lodged a complaint with the police. Following the complaint, the police launched an investigation and identified the accused through CCTV footage.

According to the police, the motive behind the murder was financial. The accused, who is a close friend of Prabuddha, had stolen ₹2,000 from Prabuddha’s purse. When Prabuddha discovered the theft and demanded the money back, a confrontation ensued, leading to the tragic murder.

Speaking on the case, South Division DCP Lokesh Jagalasar stated, “Our investigation revealed that Prabuddha’s friend was responsible for the murder. Based on the evidence collected, we have taken the accused into custody. As the accused is a minor, his identity cannot be disclosed. He will be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board for further proceedings.”
