Bengaluru: B S Yeddyurappa on Wednesday, May 23, cautioned JDS leader and Karnataka Chief Minister Kumaraswamy to fulfill his promises made to the people or face a state-wide protest.
“Kumaraswamy has promised to waive off private loans in addition to farm loans. If he fails to fulfill these promises we(BJP) will hold a Karnataka Bandh,” Yeddyurappa warned.
Calling May 23 as a “black day” in the history of Karnataka, Yeddyurappa said, “People are mocking the unholy alliance of the JDS and the Congress. So we are protesting with black bands to highlight the issue. People of Karnataka have rejected the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. How can they come to Karnataka and face the people?”
Meanwhile BSY also launched an attack on Devegowda by recalling the latter’s statement that he would sit in the opposition if the party doesn’t get the majority. “What has he done now?” BSY questioned throwing an open challenge to the JDS to face the BJP in the next polls. “I’ll change my name if BJP doesn’t win 150 seats next time,” he challenged JDS supremo H D Devegowda.
