Bengaluru: GAIL Gas has received in-principle approval from BBMP to set up Mega 300 TPD Compressed Bio Gas Plant which will produce Biogas from wet waste produced in the city.
Chief General Manager of GAIL GAS Vivek Wathodkar had wrote on April 9 2021 to the BBMP seeking in-principle the proposal for setting up of Compressed Bio Gas plant in North Bengaluru. BBMP after deliberation has now granted the in-principle approval to GAIL GAS to setup 300 TPD Compressed Bio Gas plant. The plant will be built and operated by GAIL GAS at their own cost.
The setting up of the CBG plant of this capacity will cost about 50-60 Crores Rupees. BBMP has assured to supply 300 TPD segregated organic wet waste and also assured to make available the land required for the plant. This Mega project will be a great step towards addressing the growing problem of ever growing waste generated daily in the city. This eco-friendly initiative will be a support to the Government’s endeavor towards Clean Bengaluru and Swatch Bharat.
