Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a school principal was hacked to death in front of his students when he was taking a special class for them on Sunday, October 14.
The deceased has been identified as Ranganath (60), principal of the Havanur Public School in suburban Agrahara Dasarahalli.
The principal was taking a special class for the class 10th students on Sunday when a gang of six members came into the classroom and hacked him to death right in front of his students. The perpetrators then fled the scene in the car in which they had arrived, according to police.
However, based on a tip-off, one of the attackers was caught in the Mahalaxmi Layout area here. Police had fired at him when he attacked them, injuring him in the leg. He later was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police believe that a land dispute involving the school building is the motive behind the murder of the principal.
