Bengaluru: The Cottonpet police, along with Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths, have arrested a 24-year-old gangster from Haryana at Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station (City Railway Station) on Wednesday.

The police have identified the accused as Deepak Kumar Tinu who has 28 criminal cases against him and he was on the run after escaping from Ambala prison in June and gave Delhi police the slip again in November.

The police said Tinu was also a sharp-shooter and part of a 100-member armed gang under the banner ‘Students of Punjab University’. He would videograph his criminal activities and upload it on social media under the name Tinu Haryana to glorify himself and mock the investigating agencies, the police said.
