Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh murder case nabbed the 16th accused from Maharashtra.
According to the police, Sharad Kalaskar is the 16th accused arrested in the murder case. “He was arrested by Maharashtra Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) a few days ago. He is said to be the person who is behind the supply of the revolver used to gun down Gauri. “To trace the revolver used to kill Gauri, we have taken him from the ATS custody,” said SIT police adding that he was brought to the city through a body warrant and a local court has remanded him to SIT’s custody for 20 days.
“With the arrest of Kalaskar, Gauri Lankesh murder case investigation has reached the final stage. Once we recover the revolver used for the act, the investigation will be complete,” the SIT authorities added.
