Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team on Wednesday questioned Indrajit Lankesh, Gauri’s brother, in connection with her death. This was done, said the police, as in 2005 Gauri had filed a complaint accusing Indrajit of threatening her with a gun over a property dispute. “We are trying to check the weapon Indrajit had, but he is not cooperating with the investigations,” a senior police officer said.
Complaint against Jignesh
A complaint was filed at Puttanur Town police station against Dalit activist Jignesh Mewani for allegedly insulting Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a protest meeting in Bengaluru held to condemn the murder of Gauri Lankesh.
However, police said the petitioner will have to directly move the court of transfer the case to the police station in Bengaluru where the protest meet was held.
On Tuesday, Mewani had said among other things, that the Central Government had got the journalist killed.
