A group of 15 German aviators, visiting Bengaluru for Aero India 2025, had their plans disrupted by the city’s infamous traffic. Despite arriving early in the morning and staying just 17 km from the event venue, the pilots found themselves stuck in an unexpected traffic jam on their way to Yelahanka Air Force Station. What was supposed to be a quick commute stretched into hours of delay.

The pilots, who had flown into the city aboard an A330 passenger aircraft, were left frustrated as they missed the grand opening ceremony and the highly anticipated aircraft demonstrations. Ironically, one of the pilots had spoken with a local guide the previous day about the city’s infrastructure, only to face the very challenges he had been warned about.

Authorities later disclosed that special lanes had been arranged for foreign delegates to avoid the traffic, but the German team was unaware and took the regular route, causing the delay. Despite this setback, the team maintained their enthusiasm, looking forward to engaging with event participants and presenting their aircraft.

This year’s Aero India saw improvements in traffic management, with congestion around the venue significantly reduced compared to past editions. The event continues to attract aviation experts, defense leaders, and technology innovators, promising a spectacular showcase of aerospace and defense innovations.
