Gold worth Rs 21 lakhs goes missing from bank locker; FIR lodged

Bengaluru: A customer of Jayanagar Branch of Bank of Baroda complained that gold jewellery worth Rs 21,20,000 and other valuables has gone missing from his locker. Following this a complaint has been registered.

Shivaprasad R, the complainant had kept gold jewellery and other ornaments at the locker in February but when he went to withdraw some of the ornaments on July 22, he found that all the jewellery was missing.

When he failed to receive a clear answer from the bank officials, he approached the jurisdictional police, following which an FIR was registered.

A large scale robbery was reported in December 2019 too when miscreants emptied the strong room of Muthoot Finance outlet in Bengaluru’s Lingarajapuram.

In that incident, 70 kgs of gold worth Rs 16 crore, was burgled by at least four persons, who drilled a hole on the above floor of the commercial complex where the finance company was functioning.
