Bengaluru: While the seizure of a diary belonging to Congress MLC K Govindaraj during an Income tax raid at his residence had created quite a political furore the leader on Friday reiterated that he had nothing to do with any diary.
Describing it as a political conspiracy to embarass Siddaramaiah government in the backdrop of farm loan waiver, Govindaraj has threatened legal action against a national TV channel and a publication which carried a story about an alleged written confession statement of Govind Raj recorded by the Income Tax sleuths, in which he had allegedly admitted that the notings (SG and RG) in the diary found at his residence during the IT raid referred to Congress top brass Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Congress MLC and spokesperson VS Urgrappa along with Govndaraj, said the so called document showed and published by a media house is fictitious and legal action will be initiated against the media house.
While Ugrappa did all the talking, efforts by reporters to pose the questions to Govind Raj proved futile as Urgappa batting for Govind Raj said,” he (Govind Raj) is not well. He is suffering from fever, throat infection and diarrhea. He is not in a condition to speak.”
When insisted, Govindaraj said the document which was shown by the TV channel as my confession statement is a fictitious document. I will take legal action against the media house for this.
Ugrappa has reiterated that the diary seized from Govindaraj’s residence during the raid was not his and he had no clue about the notings in the diary.
