Govt releases Rs 6 Crore for All India Kannada Sahithya Sammelana

Mysuru: The state government will extend all sort of support to the three-day All India Kannada Sahithya Sammelana to be held in the city from November 24, District Minister H C Mahadevappa assured. During a review meeting with the officials he also mentioned that state government had released Rs 6 Crore for the convention.

During the meeting, he also mentioned that since Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar founded Kannada Sahitya Parishat, hosting of the meet in Mysuru assumed special significance. The Sammelana will have more than 15 tableaux, 60 folk troupes and more than 600 artistes performing the mega event. As part of the convention various programmes at different venues have also been arranged. Apart from this, the organisers, inorder to reach out to the people, are making maximum use of social media.

The main stage Maharajas’ College Ground is also getting ready for the mega event where more than 2 lakh people not only from across the country but also from various foreign countries including America are expected to take part.

For smooth conduct of the event, ten committees including procession committee, stage management committee, registration committee, boarding and transport committee, registration committee, health committee, women’s committee, publicity committee and cultural committee have been formed.
