Bengaluru: In a big relief to the state government which has opted for an Rs.8,000 crore external loan after a huge gap emerged in its budget post COVID19, the central government announced Rs.804 crores to the state for various cleanliness and drinking water projects.
In total, the state government will get Rs.15,187 crores towards the various schemes taken up at the grama panchayat level in the financial year 2020-21.
As per the plan, the central assistance will be directly released to the panchayats which will take up the developmental works at the village level.
The central government also issued guidelines to the panchayats on the fund utilization. The first priority will be ending the open defecation practice and ensuring hundred percent toilet facility in all the villages.
