A 35-year-old man named Chenappa Narinal was brutally murdered inside a bakery in Bengaluru’s Koppal district on May 31. Disturbing CCTV footage captured the incident, showing Narinal being chased and attacked by a group wielding machetes and wooden sticks. He screamed for help and fled outside, where he was repeatedly stabbed before the attackers fled the scene.

Police identified the motive as a long-standing family feud stemming from the 2022 Panchayat elections. Seven men—Ravi, Pradeep, two individuals named Manjunath, Nagaraj, Gautam, and Pramod—were arrested on June 2. Senior officers, including Gangavathi DySP and Tavaragera CPI, visited the crime scene to initiate deeper investigation.

In a separate incident, another act of violence unfolded in the city when a gang, led by women, assaulted a man due to a business fallout. The man had left a salon managed by the accused women, leading to a confrontation where he was physically attacked. Identified as Smitha, Kavya, and Mohammed, the group was caught on camera during the assault.

Earlier in the week, a woman named Pankhuri Mishra, reportedly from Bihar, was seen hitting an auto driver with her slipper during a road dispute in Bellandur. This too was recorded and widely circulated online.

These viral videos have sparked public outcry, with citizens raising concerns over the spike in street-level violence across Bengaluru. Even in prominent areas like Hebbal, Yelahanka, and Bellandur, multiple incidents have shaken residents’ sense of safety.
