Bengaluru: Seven African students were arrested by the Bengaluru police after a brawl broke out among themselves in Yelahanka. The students attacked each other with wooden logs and beer bottles and also attacked the police.

The students are the citizens of Tanzania and Burundi. They were staying at a rented accommodation here and started brawling in the public at around 5 am with wooden logs and beer bottles. When the residents questioned them, the students asked them to go away.

The residents then informed the police who were very reluctant to arrest the students due to the recent incidents involving Africans, but when they finally tried to intervene, the police themselves got beaten up.

The police instantly overpowered the students and nabbed them. A Court here later sent them to judicial custody.

It may be recalled that the African students living in Bengaluru were caught in eye of storm after an inebriated Sudanese student mowed down a woman in the city and as a repercussion to the same, a Tanzanian student was allegedly stripped and paraded naked.
