In the early hours of Monday, a distress call jolted Bengaluru police into action amid heightened vigilance due to Indo-Pak tensions. The caller reported: “An armed man has entered the pub.” What followed was a high-stakes response that mirrored a scene from a thriller.
The incident occurred around 3:35am at Geometry Brewery and Kitchen, Rajajinagar II Stage, when security guard Vikas noticed someone break a door lock and enter the premises. He immediately alerted his supervisor, Vinay Kumar, who arrived with office staffer Shyam. Power and CCTV systems had been shut down by the intruder.
Using mobile flashlights, Vinay and Shyam located the suspect near the owner’s office on the third floor. Brandishing what seemed to be a firearm, the masked man demanded money. Fearing for their lives, Vinay pointed to a drawer containing ₹50,000, which the assailant seized. He then entered another room, warning them not to raise an alarm.
Vinay and Shyam exited the building and notified the police at 4am. Officers responded swiftly—cordoning off the area, deploying a Quick Reaction Team, and scanning the rooftop with drones. However, after six hours, the suspect was not found.
CCTV footage from nearby buildings later revealed the masked man escaped through a sliding window by jumping from the first floor. Police confirmed it was a robbery, not terror-related, and are pursuing all leads.
A case has been filed under charges of robbery and unlawful entry. The investigation remains ongoing.
