BENGALURU: Happy Streets, the beloved initiative by The Times of India, made its return on Sunday, transforming the area next to Richards Park into a lively, vehicle-free zone filled with joy and excitement. Held in Richards Town, the event became a space for togetherness, providing a refreshing escape from the daily grind. Residents of all ages enjoyed a range of activities designed to promote wellness, creativity, and connection.

From early morning, the street buzzed with activity as fitness enthusiasts danced, yoga lovers found peace, and music fans swayed to live performances. Kids participated enthusiastically in games like miniature Jenga and table tennis. Starting at 7 am, the three-hour event featured jogs, power walks, stretches, and even beatboxing contests. A crowd favorite was the petting zoo, where families interacted with animals such as rabbits and roosters.

The event also featured stand-up comedy performances by Chandan Jeyar and Teddy Kannadiga, adding to the sense of community fun. Happy Streets was presented by Bhima Jewellers and featured various fitness activities in partnership with Swingers Dance Inc. for Zumba and Vishwa Bhaavni Yoga Centre for yoga. Other attractions included a food stall by Eat Raja and games by Young Tumblers.

For many attendees, Happy Streets provided a welcome break from the usual hustle. “It’s the perfect way to start the day with excitement,” said Neha Balani and Sunil Dulani, a couple from Marathahalli. The event continues to grow, offering a family-friendly atmosphere for all.
