Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court on Thursday set aside an order passed by the special court for Lokayukta cases in Mysuru summoning Sunil Bose, son of PWD Minister H.C. Mahadevappa, in a 2010 case related to alleged demand and acceptance of bribe.
Alphonso, an official of Mines and Geology Department, was caught red-handed while allegedly receiving a bribe of Rs. 1 lakh from one Basavaraju.
A case against Bose came to be registered as the accused officer had said that he had received money on behalf of the former. However, the Lokayukta police had filed a charge-sheet against only Alphonso. Later, the complainant questioned dropping of charges against Bose, and, the special court in September 2016 had issued summons to Bose.
The High Court found fault with the decision of the trial court.
