Bengaluru: Sandalwood actress Sanjjanaa Galrani was, on Monday, denied bail by the Karnataka High Court. The actress, who was arrested for possession and distribution of narcotics in connection with the infamous ‘Sandalwood Drug Scandal’, had filed a bail plea a few days ago citing health concerns.
The High Court directed the officials to conduct a detailed medical checkup at the state-run Vani Vilas Hospital. Justice Sreenivas Harish Kumar, in his order, directed the jail officials to submit a report by December 10, which is the next date of hearing.
Additionally, the Court also ordered that the media be kept away during the actress’ health inspection.
Sanjjanaa, who is listed as the 14th accused in the case, is currently housed in the Parappana Agrahara jail. He bail plea was rejected by the High Court which held that the case diary produced by the prosecution disclosed many facts including that where she arranged parties where drugs were supplied and sold, TOI reported.
