Bengaluru: As the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has decided to move the 10 percent reservation bill for the economically backward, it had invited a number of criticisms by the opposition. But the Janata Dal (S) Supremo and former prime minister H D Deve Gowda has expressed his support towards the bill, here on Tuesday, January 8 via a tweet.
HDD took to Twitter to show his support by tweeting “Janata Dal (Secular) supports the 10% reservation in jobs and educational institutions for economically weaker sections of the upper castes. We have always stood for, and will continue to stand for the betterment of the underprivileged and weaker sections of the society.”
He has said that he had no political vendetta on the bill, as it was welcoming and helped in providing jobs to the economically weaker sections, without caste bias.
Meanwhile, he has said that his party JDS will support the bill and also their coalition partner the Congress party would support the same.
