Bengaluru: Following reports of Congress MLAs camping in Mumbai as part of the alleged ‘Operation Kamala’, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, on Monday, January 14, downplayed the reported attempts to topple his government. He stated that he was confident that none of the MLAs in question would jump the ship.

Speaking to media, HDK said that he was aware of the reports about ‘Operation Kamal’. Referring to the reports suggesting that the President’s Rule would be imposed on January 17, he said, “I don’t know who is giving these reports to the media,” and expressed his surprise at the report.

Regarding Water Resource Minister D K Shivakumar’s claim that a few Congress MLAs were camping at a hotel in Mumbai with a few BJP leaders, HDK said that the MLAs in question are his friends and that they had informed him before leaving for Mumbai. “They are in constant touch with me. They went there for personal reasons,” he explained.
