Bengaluru: Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy and JD(S) supremo and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda, will visit the famous temple town of Sringeri on Saturday, September 22 along with family members.
According to sources at the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), CM HDK and former PM HDD will arrive at the Sringeri Sharada Peetham at 11 am and offer a special puja. Later, the father and son duo will meet senior seer Bharati Tirtha Swamiji and junior seer Vidurasekhara Bharathi Swamy to seek their blessings as presently, both the seers are performing their Chathurmasa ritual at the temple.
It can be recalled that prior to the state assembly elections, the Gowda family performed the Athi Rudra Mahayana at the mutt. “Special pujas and homas are scheduled at the temple to ward off all the evils from the state government,” said a JD(S) leader from Bengaluru.
At noon, the CM will visit the district headquarters of Chikkamagaluru and hold a flood relief-work review meeting with district in-charge minister KJ George.
