Bengaluru: In a world often split between science and art, Dr Sophia Mohan stands at the intersection. A doctor by profession, but a healer through rhythm, she has transformed thousands of lives with her initiative Dance With Dr. Sophie—a platform where movement becomes therapy, and inclusion becomes practice.

Dr Sophia is a certified Dance and Movement Therapist, Zumba Fitness Instructor, and trained Bharatanatyam and semi-classical dancer. She merges her medical background with artistic expression to promote healing, particularly among women, children with special needs, and caregivers.

What Dance With Dr. Sophie offers

The platform provides:

  • Therapeutic movement for neurodiverse children

  • Zumba fitness and dance for women’s health and wellness

  • Art-based workshops for mental health and emotional expression

  • Community performances that spread awareness and encourage inclusion

Through all of this, Dr Sophia continues to break barriers, making healthcare compassionate and creativity inclusive.

A dancer with a cause

Featured in leading Malayalam newspapers like Manorama, Mathrubhumi, and Deepika, Dr Sophia has earned the title “Dancer Doctor”. Yet for her, dance is not performance—it’s purpose.

“Movement is medicine. Inclusion is a choice we practice every day,” she says.

In every beat, every sway, and every outreach event, Dr Sophia brings together what most would keep apart: the heart of healing and the art of expression.
