The two worst-hit districts are Mandya and Chitradurga.
In Karobayyanahatti in Chitradurga, a pregnant by name Sowmya (20), her husband Channakeshava (25), and father-in-law Kyasanna (55) died after their house collapsed in the rain. Channakeshava and Sowmya died on the spot while Kyasanna breathed his last at a hospital in Chitradurga.
In Kennalu Village of Pandavapura Taluk in Mandya, a 11-year-old boy Gagan died after the wall of their house collapsed due to the rain. In the Taluk, as many as 78 houses collapsed so far. In the neighbouring Mysuru District, 20 houses have damaged in the separate rain related incidents.
Meanwhile, all the Coastal, Malnad and South Karnataka districts will witness heavy rainfall for another three days. The activists pointed out that this is the impact of climate change.
