Heavy rains disrupt normal life in the city, several areas waterlogged

Bengaluru: Heavy rain lashed the city whole night on Wednesday and during the early morning on Thursday disrupting the normal life. Flood water entered into houses in the low lying areas and traffic movement has been hit.

The worst affected area is Benniganahalli. As the water was filled, the Railway underbridge was closed for the vehicle movement till morning. The fire department personnel cleared the water.

The worst affected areas due to the heavy rain and flooding are CV Ramannagar, HSR Layout, Malleshwaram, Vijayanagara and Jalahalli.

According to the IMD sources, the rain started around 11.30 pm on Wednesday and continued till 4.30 am on Thursday. The heavy rain has been predicted on Thursday night too.

According to the IMD authorities, rain has been reported from Mysuru, Mandya and Ramanagara districts as well.
