Bengaluru: Heavy rains pounded several parts of North Karnataka and Bengaluru on Sunday, October 4.
While the city had a relief from the rising temperature, the interior villages faced the turmoil of the downpour.
Copious rains in Navalgund of Dharwad district pushed the water levels in Tupparihalla and Bennihalla. Both the water bodies are overflowing and the tahsildar has asked the villagers in the vicinity not to venture into waters.
The tank in Srikanthnagar of Garaga overflowed and water gushed into more than ten houses in the vicinity. All the tanks and lakes in Kundagol have filled to the brim following heavy rains.
Rain waters washed away groundnut and Bt cotton crops. Several houses in Ingalagi and Mattikatti villages have been damaged.
