Bengaluru: A 27-years-old man from the city has been cleaning and taking care of a Ram temple since three year. What is so special about this? Well, the man wears a skull cap and his name is Saddam Hussein.
At a juncture of time when there is so much of suspicion among the Hindus and the Muslims, Hussein comes as a sign of hope. Hussein, who does the work of cleaning the temple with all his heart, says that this work brings him immense peace of mind.
Scores of people who visit the Ram temple situated in the Rajajinagar area of the city appreciate the work done by Hussien and he takes this appreciation as an incentive to work hard.
Hussien has been working for Venkatesh Babu an office-bearer of the temple for the past 18 years. When Venkatesh Babu got elected as the office-bearer of the temple he gave the responsibility of cleaning the temple premises to Hussien and now with Ram Navami on April 11, Hussein is a busy man.
Hussain says, “I am a Muslim by birth and have been working in this temple from last three years. No one has ever objected to it. Hindu-Muslims are like brothers and everyone in the temple, as well as my family, appreciates my work.” He says that the tension between two religions doesn’t bother him much because he believes in seeing positivity.
It was only a few days ago that former minister and BJP leader S Suresh Kumar too had written about Hussein on his FB page. The leader had posted images of Hussein readying the chariot of Lord Ram.
It is the land, which has seen tension brewing between followers of two religion in the name of Ram and here in Bengaluru, it is Ram, who brings peace to Saddam!
