Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court once again refused to quash an FIR against Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa in another illegal land denotification case. Apart from refusing to quash the FIR, the HC also imposed a cost of Rs 25,000 on the CM.

Justice John Michael Cunha dismissed BSY’s plea on Tuesday and directed the Lokayukta police to continue their investigation into the matter.

The FIR was filed by the Lokayukta police based on a complaint filed by social activist Jayakumar Hiremath under section 420 of the IPC in 2015.

It can be recalled that on December 22, the High Court had rejected another plea by the CM to quash another FIR in connection with another land denotification case of a 1.11 acre of land at Gangenahalli. Former CM H D Kumaraswamy and others are also accused in the case.
