Bengaluru: On the heels of High Court verdict on Hijab on Tuesday March 15, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai called on public to maintain peace and harmony.

“This is the question of our children and it is also the question of their future. There is nothing more important than education for the children,” he said.

“I appeal to all parents, community leaders to abide by the court orders and allow children to get education. It should be seen to it that no one remains outside and students must now focus on building their future,” he explained.

CM asked the students to follow the High Court order and not boycott classes or examinations. Please, abide by the court orders, he said and stressed that strict action will be taken against those who would take law and order into their hands.

Earlier on Tuesday, State HC upheld Hijab ban, saying it is not essential religious practice, and stressed that the prescription of uniform is Constitutional and students can’t object to it.
