Bengaluru: Chikkodi police arrested a house owner for firing at a family residing at his rented house for not paying rent for two months.

Noor Mohammed is the arrested accused. The family that was in his rented house didn’t pay rent for two months due to the lockdown.

Noor had earlier cut electricity and water to the family to force them to vacate. As the family didn’t vacate the house due to the financial crisis, Noor fired at the family demanding rent immediately.

No one was injured in the firing. However, now the police have arrested the accused as per the arms act.

According to the police sources, the family moved to Noor’s rented house 7 months ago.

This incident sent shockwaves across the state as thousands of families have defaulted rent due to the lockdown situation and job loss due to the COVID-19.
