Human Rights Commission Orders Investigation into CCB Allegations in Hebbagodi Rave Party Case
Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Human Rights Commission (KSHRC) has instructed Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayananda to conduct a thorough investigation into allegations of misconduct by Central Crime Branch (CCB) officers involved in the Hebbagodi rave party case. A report is expected by November 21.
The case stems from a raid on May 19 at a birthday party hosted by L. Vasu at Gopal Reddy Farmhouse, which turned into a high-profile operation. The CCB had received reports of drug use at the event, which was attended by Tamil actress Hema and around 250 others. During the raid, five individuals, including Hema, were arrested.
However, RTI activist Vijay Dennis filed a complaint accusing CCB officers of demanding ₹10 lakh to close the case, fabricating medical evidence, and engaging in inappropriate conduct, such as summoning female suspects to private meetings.
The KSHRC has directed the police to submit a detailed investigation report into these allegations. The case has drawn attention to potential abuses of power and misconduct within law enforcement.
