Bengaluru: In a bizarre incident that left both passengers and the driver bewildered, a Hyderabad-based blogger, Sriraj Nilesh, and his wife, Manasa, were stunned to discover an exorbitant Uber fare of over Rs 1 crore for a short ride in Bengaluru on Saturday. The couple had anticipated a fare of around Rs 250 for their auto ride from Tin Factory, KR Puram, to Koramangala.
Upon reaching their destination and attempting to pay via the QR code provided by Uber, they were astounded to find the fare had escalated dramatically to Rs 1 crore. Despite their attempts to resolve the issue with Uber, no immediate solution was forthcoming. Consequently, Sriraj negotiated with the driver to accept the estimated fare and provided their contact information and IDs as evidence until Uber could address the matter.
Despite their efforts, Uber had not responded to the situation by the time of this report. The incident underscores the challenges posed by technological glitches and the importance of timely resolution in such situations.
