Bengaluru: A day after former CM Siddaramaiah and major irrigation minister D K Shivakumar claimed that they are in the race to become the next Chief Minister of the state, home minister M B Patil has also announced that he is in the race. “I am the no 2 in the race for the CM’s post. After Siddaramaiah I am the most preferred leader,” said Patil.
“Siddaramaiah has the eligibility to become CM again and will become CM again. But after him, it will be my turn. There is no doubt about it,” he said.
It can be recalled that Siddaramaiah had claimed in his campaign rallies that he will become the CM again. Upset by his statement, DKShi countered him saying that he too has merit to become the CM of the state.
Recently, M B Patil was involved in a public spat with major irrigation minister D K Shivakumar over the issue of a separate religion tag for the Lingayat community. Patil alleged that DKShi is trying to destroy the Congress in the state.
