Bengaluru: When I was studying in high school at Bukanakere in Mandya, I sold vegetables and lemons to supplement the income of my family, recalled Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa.
Celebrating Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary in the city, the CM said that his humble background and the hard work he did helped in his life.
“I was able to become the CM of this state four times because of sheer hard work. There is no alternative to hard work,” he said.
The CM, who gave away free laptops to the eligible students on the occasion said that nothing stopped him from dreaming big.
“Only those dreams made me work harder everyday,” he said.
Calling Vivekananda as an aspiration for all, he said that many youth icons have publicly accepted that words of Vivekananda have inspired them.
“The youth must not always aim at getting a government job. They must also strive to become entrepreneurs and employment generators,” he said.
