Bengaluru: After widespread speculations about his whereabouts for the last two days, Minister Ramesh Jarakiholi has clarified that he was in Bengaluru the whole time and not in Mumbai.

For a while, there were rumours doing the rounds that Jarakiholi, along with some other party leaders, had flown to Mumbai in order exert pressure on the government with regard to the state’s cabinet expansion.

Speaking to media on Friday, November 30, the minister alleged that some political leaders were trying to malign his reputation by spreading rumours about him. “I have been in the city (Bengaluru) for the last two days. I did not go to Mumbai,” he clarified.

Speaking further about the matter, he said that there was a misunderstanding among the party’s members, but now the issue has been laid to rest by AICC chief Rahul Gandhi.

Water Resources Minister D K Shivakumar, backing up his colleague, accused the media of spreading rumours about Ramesh and said, “We have known each other for many years and he (Ramesh) is my friend. He will never betray his party.”
