Bengaluru: Sumalatha Ambareesh, wife of Sandalwood actor/politician Late Ambareesh has confirmed and clarified her stand, here on Tuesday, March 12, on facing the 2019 Lok Sabha elections by saying that she will contest.

Sumalatha has posted a Facebook post with regard to this, which states that she is always with the people of Mandya and that some rivals of her are trying to spread fake information about she not contesting the Lok Sabha polls.

Agitated by the comments made by few that she will not be contesting the election this time and that she has decided to take back her decision of filing the nomination, she has made clear that this was fake propaganda and that people must not take it seriously.

The political high drama began when former chief minister Siddaramaiah said that Sumalatha would not be supported by any of the Congress leaders and that she will not be getting a ticket from the party, on March 11 in New Delhi. As a result of this few of them had posted on social media that Sumalatha would step back as she will not be getting any support from the Congress party.

Based on this, Sumalatha has clarified on Facebook.

Meanwhile, Sumalatha has said that she would issue a statement on whether or not she will participate from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency on March 18, as Water Resource Minister D K Shivakumar had met her and had a brief discussion.

DKShi has reportedly requested her to contest from any other constituency.
