Bengaluru: This year, the Independence Day celebration on August 15th will be a low key affair in the capital city. The main function which will be held at Manekshaw parade ground will witness a low key affair as per the BBMP officials in charge of the annual event.

Inline with the plans, only 200 invitees will attend this event. Among them, 75 people will be Corona warriors while 25 will be those who have won the war against COVID-19 after infection.

According to the authorities, Rapid Antigen Testing kiosks will be opened around the ground. Only those who test negative will be allowed to enter the I’Day event arena.

“CM will hoist the tricolour flag at 9 am on that day. There will not be any cultural events by the students unlike in the past,” explained sources in the BBMP.
