II PU revaluation – Marks remain static

Bengaluru: Generally, revaluation has not changed the fortune of many PUC students, as their marks have remained static despite the exercise. The results of revaluation and re-totalling were declared on Monday.

Out of the 36,859 answer scripts revaluated, there was no change in the marks in 29,820, while there was an increase of six marks and above in 1,785 answer sheets. There was a decrease of six marks and above in case of 1,881 answer scripts.

There was a request for re-totalling of 1,211 scripts, of which the work has been completed on 814. These papers had a total of 29,820 mistakes – errors in totalling and evaluating answers. There was also a difference in totalling of marks in 39 papers. The students had sought photocopies of as many as 54,917 answer scripts. The Pre-University Education Department claims to have completed 94 per cent of the work on 92,987 answer scripts. The result of re-totalling/revaluation of the remaining papers would be declared in a few days.

The demand for revaluation, re-totalling and photocopies of answer scripts is heavy this year. A total of 6.10 lakh students appeared for the exam this year compared to 6.13 lakh last year. An official from Karnataka Examinations Authority said the ranking based on revised II PU marks for CET seat allotments would be declared soon after getting the details from the PU department.
