A 16-year-old II PU student died after sustaining critical injuries in a motorcycle accident on Old Madras Road in Bengaluru during the early hours of Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as V Lawrence, a resident of Coconut Garden in Ayyappanagar and a commerce student at St Joseph’s College.

Teen loses control of sports bike

According to police, the accident occurred around 3 am on the flyover at Dooravaninagar when Lawrence was riding a sports motorcycle registered in his mother’s name.

Investigators said the motorcycle was generally used by his elder brother, who works in a private company.

Preliminary inquiries indicate that Lawrence lost control of the vehicle due to excessive speed, causing the bike to ram into the sidewall of the flyover. The impact threw him off the motorcycle, resulting in severe injuries.
